The Authority to Obligate Policy (No. 1.04, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/hoop/01/1_04.html) has been re-named and is now entitled Authority to Execute Contracts and Make Purchases. This policy serves as the general contracting and purchasing policy for the university. It provides guidance regarding university officials who have the authority to execute contracts on behalf of the university and which offices handle which types of contracts. Additionally, it provides guidance on purchasing authority. For questions regarding contracts and agreements, contact the Office of Legal Affairs and Institutional Compliance. The Financial Exigency Policy (No. 2.55) has been combined with the Abandonment of Academic Positions or Programs Policy (No. 2.56, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/hoop/02/2_56.html). For questions regarding this policy, contact the Office of the President.
