Revised Policies

The Disability Accommodation Policy (No. 2.18C, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/02/02_18C.html) has been revised. The policy now contains information regarding how students can request accommodations when taking elective credits at other educational institutions with whom the university has an existing affiliation agreement. Additionally, information regarding how to request an accommodation for a university-sponsored service, program or activity has been added. Questions regarding this policy should be directed to Human Resources - Equal Opportunity or to the appropriate Section 504 Coordinator.

The Sick Leave Pool Program Policy (No. 2.53, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/02/02_53.html) has been revised. Revisions include the definition of severe condition to clarify what is meant by a catastrophic illness or injury. The addition of several sections under the Sick Leave Pool Administration section to clarify award process and use of hours awarded from the pool. A denial appeal process has been added to procedure section. Additionally, the policy now makes clear that employees may not apply for an extension if they have exhausted their lifetime maximum from the sick leave pool. The Web Site Linking and Privacy Policy (No. 17.05A, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/17/17_05A.html) has been revised to better comply with state law. For questions regarding this policy, contact Jennifer Canup, director, University Web Communications at 713.500.3296.

The Safe Use of Biological Agents Policy (No. 18.11, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/18/18_11.html) has been re-named the Safe Use of Hazardous Materials in the Laboratory Policy. Additionally, the Radiation Safety Policy (No. 18.09, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/18/18_09.html) and the Safe Use of Chemical Agents Policy (No. 18.11A, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/18/18_11A.html) have been deleted and merged with this policy. Questions regarding these changes should be directed to the Office of Environmental Heath & Safety (EH&S).

Revised Form

The Request for Permission to Serve Alcoholic Beverages Form linked in the Alcoholic Beverages Policy (No. 2.02, http://legal.uth.tmc.edu/02/2_02.html) has been revised. The contact information for the person in the department who can answer questions regarding the event should be included on the form.
