Flags

POLICY OVERVIEW

It is the policy of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (“university”) that the flags of the United States of America and the State of Texas be flown every day on university premises where appropriate structures are available. The flags shall be raised, lowered and displayed as required by federal and state law.

The flags may be placed at half-staff only on the following occasions/occurrences:

• Memorial Day;
• Peace Officers Memorial Day (unless that day is also Armed Forces Day);
• at the direction of the President of the United States; or,
• at the direction of the Governor of the State of Texas.
